Sewell Chan
Sewell Chan is a journalist, editor and media innovator. He has served as the editor in chief of the nonprofit Texas Tribune; as a deputy managing editor and then editorial page editor of the Los Angeles Times; as a reporter, Washington correspondent, deputy Op-Ed editor and international news editor at The New York Times; and as a reporter for The Washington Post. As a Visiting Fellow at the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics, he is studying the evolution of journalistic ethics in the face of rampant polarization, misinformation and mistrust.
Chan holds an A.B. in social studies from Harvard and an M.Phil. in politics from Oxford, where he studied as a Marshall scholar.
