Marcy Syms is a business leader and philanthropist. As one of the youngest female presidents of a New York Stock Exchange-traded company, she led Syms Corp., founded by her father, Sy Syms, transforming it from a regional retailer into a national brand. She currently serves as president of TPD Group, specializing in multigenerational succession planning, and holds board positions with Benco Dental and previously with Rite Aid Corp.

Marcy is the founding trustee and president of the Sy Syms Foundation, established in 1985 to support education, societal justice, scientific research, and the arts. Under her leadership, the foundation has distributed over $30 million, benefiting institutions like NPR, the Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University, and CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College. She also serves on boards including Columbia Law School’s ERA Project and the NPR Foundation, continuing her lifelong commitment to impactful philanthropy and leadership.
