Mamfatou Baldeh (she/hers) is a 2nd year Ph.D. student at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education (HGSE) and serves as a Resident Tutor at Winthrop House. Her research focuses on adolescent identity development with a particular focus on intersectional social identities (ethnicity/race, gender, SES, etc.) and youth of color. She is also interested in the relationship building processes for Black youth and within Black communities and how identity development can transform these connections.

Prior to HGSE, Mamfatou worked in NYC middle schools through City Year New York and received her Master’s in Higher Education. She was born and raised in The Bronx, New York with roots in The Gambia and Senegal, West Africa. Beyond the work, Mamfatou enjoys deep conversations, horror movies, napping, and spending time with family.
