Madeleine Woods
Madeleine Woods is the AI Project Lead at the Bok Center’s Learning Lab, where she develops pedagogical tools to support faculty and students in engaging with artificial intelligence as both a medium and a method for inquiry. Formally trained in folklore and linguistics (Harvard University BA, Cambridge University MA), she sees AI as a machine for architectural thinking—one that reshapes how we analyze, create, and communicate. She is particularly interested in combining frameworks from structuralist theory to the algorithmic logic of computation.
As a Fellow in Values Engagement, she will focus on how traditions of meaning-making can inform the ethical use of emerging technologies. Madeleine seeks to advance dialogue across communities by drawing on her background, underscoring the importance of reflection and community practice in higher education.
