Ariana Okoth

Ariana Okoth '28 is studying Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology and African American Studies with an interest in the intersection of healthcare, policy, and the arts as a means of advancing equity. Through her work as a youth organizer, mentor, and global facilitator—from advocating for DEI in New York town halls to leading cross-cultural dialogues in Gambia and South Dakota—she has developed a deep appreciation for community-rooted leadership and the power of storytelling. She also explores the role of music, particularly protest and Black diasporic traditions, as a vehicle for connection and resistance. She hopes to carry the lessons from the fellowship into her future as a physician and policymaker, cultivating dialogue that bridges differences and reflects the voices of marginalized communities.
