Anyeli Matos, a proud Black Dominican, was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Her experiences as an immigrant and first-generation college graduate fuel her passion for education reform and advancing equitable opportunities for Black and Brown students.

Her career spans school, network, district, and nonprofit leadership, where she has partnered with educators and leaders to strengthen schools, improve systems, and scale impact. Most recently, she served as the Senior Executive Director of the Charter Schools Office at New York City Public Schools and led organizational strategy and strategic planning at Latinos for Education. Following a health sabbatical, Anyeli currently works as an independent consultant and serves as a Resident Tutor and Fellows in Values Engagement (FiVE) Fellow at Harvard University. Through her Harvard roles, she mentors students, leads meaningful dialogue, and strengthens community.

A proud alumna of NYC Public Schools, Anyeli holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Economics from Binghamton University and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management and Doctorate in Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Anyeli adores her family, loves to dance, and firmly believes that “los tres golpes” can solve any world problem.
