DESCRIPTION:<p>	Myisha Cherry will discuss her new book, <em>The Case for Rage: </em><em>Why Anger Is Essential to Anti-Racist Struggle, </em>in conversation with Jason Reynolds.</p><p>	<strong>Myisha Cherry</strong> is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of California, Riverside. Her research is primarily concerned with the role of emotions and attitudes in public life. Cherry’s books include <em>UnMuted: Conversations on Prejudice, Oppression, and Social Justic</em>" (Oxford University Press) and, co-edited with Owen Flanagan, <em>The Moral Psychology of Anger</em> (Rowman &amp; Littlefield). Her latest book is <em>The Case for Rage: Why Anger is Essential to Anti-racist Struggle</em> (Oxford University Press). Her work on emotions and race has appeared in The Atlantic, Boston Review, Los Angeles Times, Salon, Huffington Post, WomanKind, and New Philosopher Magazine. Cherry is also the host of the UnMute Podcast, where she interviews philosophers about the social and political issues of our day.</p><p>	<strong>Jason Reynolds</strong> is an award-winning and #1 New York Times bestselling author. Jason’s many books include <em>Miles Morales: Spider Man</em>, the <em>Track </em>series (Ghost, Patina, Sunny, and Lu), <em>Long Way Down</em>, which received a Newbery Honor, a Printz Honor, and a Correta Scott King Honor, and <em>Look Both Ways</em>, which was a National Book Award Finalist. His latest book, <em>Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You</em>, is a collaboration with Ibram X. Kendi. Jason is the 2020-2021 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. He is on faculty at Lesley University, for the Writing for Young People MFA Program, and lives in Washington, DC. </p><p>	 </p>
