Former Fellow-in-Residence Eric Bayruns García has a new publication, Afro-Latinx, Hispanic, and Latinx Identity: Understanding the Americas. Published in Critical Philosophy of Race (Volume 13, Issue 1, 2025), the article argues that the term "Afro-Latinx" is more apt than "Hispanic" or "Latinx" in many contexts, particularly in illuminating the role of anti-Black racism, structural injustice, and colonial policies in shaping lived experiences. This work, first presented during his 2022-23 fellowship year at his Faculty Seminar, contributes to ongoing debates in Latin American philosophy and racial identity studies. Learn more here.
