Gina Schouten named 2026 Guggenheim Fellow
Congratulations to Gina Schouten, member of the Faculty Committee at the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics and Professor of Philosophy at Harvard University, for being awarded a 2026 Guggenheim Fellowship!
A leading scholar in social and political philosophy and ethics, Schouten's work examines questions of justice, legitimacy, and inequality. At ELSCE, her research contributes to interdisciplinary conversations on ethical challenges in public life.
With support from the Guggenheim Fellowship, Schouten plans to advance a major research and writing project on intellectual diversity in higher education. Her work aims to move beyond polarized debates about academia and instead offer a more constructive framework accessible to a broad public audience.
The Guggenheim Fellowship, established in 1925, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts. Fellows receive financial support to pursue independent work at a critical stage in their careers.
