[Dr. Rebecca Brendel](https://bioethics.hms.harvard.edu/faculty-staff/rebecca-weintraub-brendel), Director of the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics and former Faculty Fellow at the Edmond &amp; Lily Safra Center for Ethics, has been named President-Elect of the Massachusetts Medical Society. She will begin her term as President in June 2026.

A leader in psychiatry and medical ethics, Dr. Brendel has focused on issues at the interface of psychiatry, medicine, law, ethics, and human rights.
