This two-day conference, hosted by the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics, seeks to address the pressing issue of why democracies struggle with maintaining civil discourse. The event is interdisciplinary by design, bringing together a diverse group of participants, including academics, think tanks, business leaders, policymakers, and professionals working at the intersection of philanthropy and civil society. The aim is to explore the underlying causes of these challenges and to collaboratively identify relevant areas of research to advance constructive dialogue and potential solutions for democratic societies.

In-person only. Space is limited. For information about registration, contact [ethics\_events@fas.harvard.edu](mailto:ethics_events@fas.harvard.edu).
